North Umpqua River Roller

This ride is one of our favorites, but a bit more difficult.  On North Bank Rd you head towards the Glide area.  This road climbs, dips, and winds with great views of the river.   At Glide, you can stop for food or, just over the bridge, turn left and see Colliding Rivers, where the North Umpqua and Little Rivers meet head-on.  Buckhorn Rd offers a good surface generally, but couple of substantial hills, too.

The ride travels through farm- and ranch-land and, in some areas, takes you right along the Umpqua River.  Between mile marker 25 and 26,the Colliding Rivers visitors' information area will be on the left (restrooms available).   If you are hungry or need refreshments, you can detour east and you enter Glide where services are available.  The reminder of the trip means traveling along some beautiful and scenic country roads.

The ride starts and ends at River Forks Park, 380 River Forks Road, Roseburg, OR 97471.  The park is a day-use-only facility and is located at the confluence of the North and South Branches of the Umpqua River with restrooms, pavilions, picnic areas, playgrounds, disk golf and golf course, ball fields, sand volleyball and multi-use paths.
