Winery Tour

A local favorite.  There can be some traffic in the Melrose area.  But the road has good shoulders.  There will be some rollers and a good hill along the way.

An enjoyable ride through wine country along beautiful pastures where horses, cattle, llamas, and sheep graze, interspersed occasionally by vineyards and some excellent views of the Umpqua River.  You will pass the Melrose Vineyards on Melqua Road and Henry Estate Winery on Hubbard Creek Road.  If you are ready for refreshments or lunch, around the 19th mile on Fort McKay Road is the Lighthouse Bakery and Café (please check their hours – Closed on Monday’s).

Wineries along the way are open for tasting.

The ride starts and ends at River Forks Park (380 River Forks Road) Roseburg, OR 97471.  The park is a day-use-only facility and is located at the confluence of the North and South Branches of the Umpqua River with restrooms, pavilions, picnic areas, playgrounds, disk golf and golf course, ball fields, sand volleyball and multi-use paths.
